Stock Donation Initiated

Thank you for your generous decision to donate stock to HALO! We greatly appreciate your support and commitment to our mission.

This page serves to provide you with the necessary information to initiate the stock transfer process. The following has also been sent you your email along with HALO’s broker information.

To begin the stock transfer, please follow the instructions below:

• Obtain a stock transfer form from your broker: Please contact your broker or financial institution that currently holds the stocks you wish to donate. Request a stock transfer form or a similar document required for the transfer process. They will provide you with the necessary paperwork to proceed.
• Please ensure to include the brokerage information sent to your email when filling out the stock transfer form.

Additionally, we would like to bring the following points to your attention:

• Private company stock transfers: If you are transferring stock in a private company, please note that this process may take longer, potentially up to four weeks, compared to transferring publicly-traded stock. Valuation issues may also arise in such cases.
• Timing considerations: If you plan to transfer private stock in November or December, please be aware that it may take longer to complete the transfer. There is a possibility that it might not be processed in time to be deducted from that year’s taxes. We recommend consulting with a tax professional for guidance regarding your specific situation.
