Holy City Arts & Lyric Opera, HALO, is looking for a Chief Development Officer with extensive experience to continue cultivating and expanding the organization’s financial capacity. The successful candidate will work closely with the General and Artistic Directors to identify and engage current and prospective donors, foundations, grant opportunities, and community relationships. This position requires a dynamic leader capable of increasing financial commitment to the organization, as well as creating an environment for HALO to thrive.

General Information

  • Location: Charleston, SC
  • Employment Type: Full-time, flexible work arrangements (on-site and remote)

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and grow HALO’s donor base.
  • Identify, write, and submit grants.
  • Secure corporate sponsorships.
  • Fundraise and develop other revenues necessary to support HALO’s mission.
  • Build a team to contribute to the strategic development of the organization.
  • Work with other HALO staff on ad hoc projects as assigned.

Basic Requirements

  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Familiarity with Kindful and/or other CRM donor database management systems.
  • Excellent grant writing skills and proven success of grant acquisition.
  • Managerial skills.
  • Previous fundraising/revenue generating work.
