“What would make you give opera a chance?” asks Leah Edwards, general director of Holy City Arts & Lyric Opera. Affectionately known as HALO, the organization initially took off in 2019. Since then, Edwards and co-founder Dimitri Pittas have devoted every working minute to help reestablish a more inclusive opera in the American birth city of the art form.
